Vision, Values &

Guiding Principles

Our Vision

To be an inclusive sporting community that empowers our members to live physically, emotionally, mentally and socially healthy lives.

WA iSports 2019 End of Year Party

WA iSports strives to build an inclusive community, to help realise the potential of our volunteers and members, embrace difference and apply our diverse thinking to innovation and delivery of our programs.

WA iSports is dedicated to the consideration, support and inclusion of people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQIA+ people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in all aspects of our organisation.

In the spirit of reconciliation the WA iSports acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Our Purpose

To provide opportunities for the development of skills, social interaction and the improvement of the health and wellbeing of all people within the community by providing access to a range of inclusive sporting programs that cater for individual needs, personal goals and preferences.

While WA iSports encourages the participation of all in the community, the programs and activities have been specifically developed to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual disability and those who are on the Autism Spectrum.

Our Values

Respect: We treat all people with dignity, sensitivity, courtesy and encourage a culture of mutual respect

Inclusion: We provide opportunities for members to participate in the activities in which they engage to the full degree that suits them as an individual

Integrity: We act in an open, honest, ethical and courageous way; the respect, valuing and wellbeing of our members is foremost in our decision-making

Diversity: We recognise the benefits diversity brings to our society, and we celebrate and value all people

Empowerment: We advocate for and actively support our members to reach their full potential

Rights: We affirm that all people, including those with disability and those on the Autism Spectrum have the right to express, and be heard on their opinion and thoughts, to be accepted within their community, and live a fulfilling life to the level they choose.
